Blurring the lines of entertainment
If you’ve ever wanted to play a game based on the TV show with the same amount of excitement on both ends, then you may only have to wait less than 2 months. Namco Bandai has teamed up with Trion Worlds to release an MMO 3rd-person shooter that goes by the name of Defiance. This game actually goes hand-in-hand with an original SyFy series that bares the same name. That’s actually a good thing, as both will be raring to go in April.
What’s so unique about this? The experience will be like no other. Not only will the game and series be launched, they’re actually synonymous. What that means is that the way the story evolves with one media platform actually affects the other. Speaking of platforms, look for it to be released on the PS3, Xbox 360, as well as the PC realm.
This is a true massive project that spans not only entertainment platforms, but our very televisions. Could this mean a whole new frontier for both television and gaming? Imagine, too – the storytelling that you have a part in! An open world environment should prove to leave all sort of excitement for all involved.
The suspense is built up, and definitely no joke as the release is on April 2nd for both North and Latin Americas. Be sure to lay your hands on a copy as soon as you can for this one. It should prove to be an experience unlike anything that ANY of us have seen.
