Aluminum Nintendo Clone Has Been Announced

How many times can one invent the wheel?

Console mod company Analogue Interactive has announced that will release of all things, a clone of the Nintendo Entertainment System, the most noticeable difference between this system and numerous NES knock-offs out there: It has a metal shell.

According to Analogue’s statement, the Analogue Nt, will give gamers “the highest quality way to experience the NES and Famicon [the Japanese version of the NES]”. The company also said that the Nt’s is designed around the guts of the NES, giving us quality NES gameplay all in a nice aluminum casing. It also has four controller ports, which would mean four player games would be possible without a multitap.

But this system is far from the first present day system to play NES cartridges. There are that could play not only NES games, but also games for Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and whichever combination in between.

And then we also the original NES itself. And the Wii U and 3DS’s Virtual Console.

Analogue said that they will reveal more about their Nintendo clone in due time and will be taking orders at the end of March.
