Bungie Announces Destiny: The Dark Below DLC

Bungie has unveiled details on its upcoming DLC expansion pack: The Dark Below set for release on December 9, 2014. Much to our surprise, it’s packed with quite a generous degree of new additions to keep players entertained during the 4th Qtr. This new chapter, reportedly will introduce several new Crucible including a Vex temple set within tight corridors; Skyshock is a decommissioned planetary array, and The Caludron, an abandoned Hive ritual site.

The new DLC also introduces two new co-op Strike levels and introduces a new ominous character known as Omnigul, who has been preoccupied with expanding the Hive forces in the midst of summoning her old master, Crota. Naturally, it’s up to you to track down her whereabouts deep below the Cosmodrome and eliminate her before the remaining inhabits of Earth while there’s still time.

Upon approaching the Tower, you’ll encounter Eris, a new addition to the last city on Earth who brings a warning of Crota’s imminent arrival. Eris will offer several quests (bounties) and three new story missions which will help you to increase your light levels and unlock new weapons essential to eliminating the

If Strikes don’t suit your interests, a new Raid level will also be included in the expansion pack. Coincidentally, you’ll need to need to ensure your gear and experience are equipped for the job as you’ll be taking on the god Crota himself. His defeat is sure to unlock tons of rich rewards and exotic gear. (PlayStation owners will also be treated to one exclusive raid level, The Undying Mind, which is sure to upset those on the Xbox front.)

With new gear brings an increase to the light level caps to 32, offering players the ability to acquire more effective weapons and armor. Be sure you get back on the grind especially with the revised Iron Banner mode which will take player levels into account and create a more rewarding experience to higher ranked players.

Players who don’t already have an active Season Pass subscription can pick up the new DLC in December for $19.99 (or $34.99 for the Season Pass that also includes the House of Wolves expansion.)
