Destiny Servers Going Offline, Starting Tomorrow
Prep work for incoming hot fixes and new features.

Start making plans to put your raids and patrols on halt as Bungie will be taking the Destiny servers offline starting tomorrow between the hours of 8AM – 12PM PST. It’s all temporary of course in order to get the title’s servers properly equipped for the extensive list of planned updates Bungie announced earlier this week. Among those changes will include the title’s first official expansion pack The Dark Below, set to debut a few weeks from now.
Bungie is undoubtedly making all the necessary preparations to ensure the multiplayer experience (which operates in a shared atmosphere) can run in a ‘seamless’ and enjoyable state for all. Typically when a major release such as this runs public, it’s often met with an unexpected series of server hiccups.
Destiny has been heavily criticized for its shortcomings (i.e. limited content, server issues, unbalanced battle mechanics) and sparked a significant degree and is now faced with several competitors (Halo: Master Chief Collection and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare) that could impact its user-base over the next quarter. Hopefully Bungie’s swath of updates will give gamers enough incentive to keep playing (I’ve personally taken a short hiatus, but will get back into battle once the expansion drops.)
