Don’t Call It A Dream, First Official Street Fighter V Teaser Trailer

Don’t Call It A Dream, First Official Street Fighter V Teaser Trailer

For some time, we've speculated that Capcom was secretly tinkering on some new project after the debut of the new MadCatz TE sticks were revealed on PS4. Despite several official statements suggesting otherwise, diehard fans refused to accept the reality that they were developed to support Ultra Street Fighter 4.

Many of you speculated that Capcom had to be working on a new project with Street Fighter leading the path for next-gen fighters. Well the speculation is over – today we've got our first look at the teaser for Street Fighter V, that ends with a somewhat mellow "Rise Up" message at the conclusion of the clip.

While there's not a great deal of gameplay footage, we do get a few glimpses of the two of the series iconic characters – Ryu and Chun engaged in battle. Chun seems to have a new variant of her spinning bird kick. And Ryu? Well, he's naturally solid at chucking plasma and unleashing powerful Hadoukens of course.

It's way too early to form opinions until we see a bit more of what Street Fighter V has in store for us. With any luck, we'll hear some additional details at this weekend's PlayStation Experience event hosted in Vegas along, or at Capcom Cup taking place in San Francisco next month. At the very least, we can start getting mentally prepared for several new years of vortex characters, nerfs, hype and hopefully a swath of new changes that will make playing Street Fighter V worthwhile.

The next installment will be "exclusively" available for the PlayStation 4 and PC**. Boom!

[Note:] We're not sure how long these videos will stay up, but fortunately some sharp fans have found websites that have snagged the embed. It's quite possible this footage was going to be reserved for a more official unveiling and passionate members of the scene jumped the gun. Hopefully you get to catch a peek before all the featured videos are hidden with privacy settings.

** Xbox One is sure to get it eventually – just not at launch.
