Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Comes to PSN Today

The wait is now over.
Rockstar Games has officially announced today that the fan favorite Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas, will finally be released on the PlayStation Network today, December 11th as a PS2 Classics downloadable title through the PlayStation Store. For four years the HD version of San Andreas has been only been the Xbox Live Market console wise, which made many PlayStation users question the fact of why it was not featured on PlayStation Network as well, since the official launch of San Andreas first launched on Playstation 2 in 2004 exclusively ( until a Xbox version was announced a year later in 2005). The long-awaited wait has now come to an end and PlayStation 3 users will now have a chance to experience the LA gangland all over again while throwing up gang signs proclaiming Grove Street, and the RPG elements of CJ’s journey that left San Andreas a memorable fun mark in any gamer’s lifetime. This announcement is just in time for the second west coast installment, Grand Theft Auto V, launching next spring.
We know GTA fans on PlayStation 3 have been eager to be able to download and play the original Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas from the PSN Store for quite awhile now and we’re happy to announce that it will finally be coming for download there tomorrow, Tuesday December 11th (the game is also currently available for Xbox 360 players via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace).
Stay tuned as we will officially confirm the availability of San Andreas at the PSN Store here tomorrow at the Newswire.
