Hype Inbound: Hide and Seek EVOLVED

A giant spin on a classic tradition.
For centuries children have been playing hide and seek. It’s also a part of nature, in the form of a species hunting for food to survive. Turtle Rock Studios has combined these two concepts into something fresh for the co-op market. If you thought they were done innovating when they made Left 4 Dead, think again.
When you first hear about Evolve, you might assume that it’s just a Left 4 Dead mod. A game where you track down and fight an overpowered tank, rather than find an exit. This is only half true, Evolve has a lot more character, and is even more dependent on good teamwork to find success. It’s more comparable to drafting a four person team in Team Fortress 2, then sending them out to capture an Incredible Hulk.
Players will be able to take the role of a hunter on a team of four, or the monster itself! There are four classes of hunter, a trapper, a support, a medic, and an assault class. All of which will have individual hunters within them that feature different play styles. Their objective is simply to kill the monster. There will be various monsters, all with their own abilities and play styles. The monster can achieve victory by killing the hunters, or completing a designated objective.
An even bigger part in the game is the environment. Monsters can “evolve” by feasting on smaller creatures throughout the map, or going into a cocoon. Hunters also have access to a variety of power-ups. What stands out the most though, are the hazards scattered around that can spell doom for hunter or monster without discrimination! You might get knocked onto a hazardous creature hidden under water and leave your team down a man!
Talking about excitement, this is a title I can not wait to get my hands on. There will be a single player campaign, as well as the a.i. filling in when there is a lack of players. However, we all know that playing with human players will be where it’s at! Evolve is currently set to release this October. I will be there probably playing an assault, and I hope we can team up and take down some monsters together!
