Nintendo Direct: January 2015 Rundown

This Nintendo Direct, has showcased a number of games; a surprising number of them being free to play or including DLC. Even so, the endearing creative spirit Nintendo shines through. Sticking to the classic model of fan service and family friendly games. But we all know what the big announcement we were waiting for is… When is the New 3DS dropping!? Welp Reggie Fils-amie made the announcement; the New Nintendo 3DS will be here on February 13 2015.

Nintendo announced the new 3DS XL and only the the XL version. Nintendo, did also announce a Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3DS edition. Alongside the Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate 3DS bundle announced for both Japan and Europe.

Splatoon! is coming in May and we saw a clarification of how the game plays and some of the more social elements of its core item and weapon mechanics. With a town like hub where one can exchange points earned in multiplayer matches for better gear means that this game might shift a lot of Wii U consoles.

Speaking of the Wii U, some Wii games will finally be available digitally on the Wii U E-Shop for dowload without booting your console in Wii mode.

Overall, it was an interesting series of announcements. that offered updates on many highly anticipated games.
