PAX East 2014 Hands-On: Secret Ponchos

When the West gets too wild…

The Old West was alive and well at PAX East. Well, at least it was in the run-and-gun combat game Secret Ponchos.

The developers at Switchblade Monkeys were inspired to make this game by watching cowboy movies and playing SoulCalibur of all games. You get a bird’s eye view of the action as your character shoots and dodges the opposition. You have to be quick on the thumbsticks in order to survive.

While the game shares many aspects as first-person shooters, the character you pick determines your abilities, speed, range and damage, etc. The developers made an effort to make sure that no characters were overpowered.

Secret Ponchos comes out this year for the PlayStation 4 and Steam.
