This really brings a whole new meaning to the term “console war”. Takara Tomy is definitely going to win the hearts of diehard Transformers fans with this new lineup giving homage to the classic 16-bit consoles and iconic robots-in-disguise. The toymaker has come up with a rather impressive set of figurines featuring Optimus Prime and Megaton respectively transforming into the PlayStation and Sega Genesis.

If you’re looking to pick these up, both can be pre-ordered via BigBadToyStore for $120 each. We should point out that for some reason, Prime won’t be making his shipping debut until February 2015, but Megatron will be available starting next month. Typical that Prime would arrive in a belated fashion.
