Quoth the Gamer: Go Outside and Play!

Seriously, make new friends and have fun.
My love for gaming competitions should be well documented by now. I’ve written plenty of articles covering huge eSports events. However, these are not the only events that should get attention.
All of those events started out as a small gathering of people somewhere. Whether it be at a friend’s house, or a store, every scene started somewhere. Online play is convenient, but far from optimal.
I’m saying all of this because there’s currently a lot of communities trying to grow. There’s also a lot of players unaware that communities exist nearby.
It’s not even all about competing if you aren’t into that. These are places where you can go and meet people with shared interests. You might even learn more about your favorite game!
I want to try my best to help places connect with more players. Hitbox Arena for instance, is in northern New Jersey. They’re open 7 days a week, and host . Currently, they are doing a lot with the Super Smash Bros. crowd!
It would be difficult for me to post every single local tournament. However, if you have a community that regularly organizes at one place, please contact me . I’d love to share, and help your communities grow!
