Quoth the Gamer: Infinite Crisis
Five reasons why you need to play this game.

What’s up jokas! I haven’t been around much lately, but today I’m going to tell you why. I’ve played a lot of MOBA titles these past couple of years. I’ve dabbled in DoTa 2, and frustrated plenty of opponents with Tibbers in League of Legends. I’ve been addicted one in particular, and today I’m going to give you 5 reasons to play Infinite Crisis!
I was going to do a top ten, but quite honestly, the game only needs 5. Anyone that’s ever followed me will tell you I’m extremely picky about what games I play, even free to play titles. So if I’m spending a lot of time playing something, it’s worth taking a look at! I’ve played more LoL than any other MOBA, so a lot of comparisons will be drawn from it. So let’s get into the list shall we?
5. Batman
I am not a Batman fan at all, but you know about a thousand of them right? Here is another game where you can be the bat. There’s currently the original, gaslight, and nightmare versions. Seeing as the game is based on character versions from all universes, we’re going to get more. The mecha, atomic, and arcane universes are represented in game and the bats hasn’t got that far yet.
All kidding aside, the characters make me want to play more. If your favorite isn’t available then give it some time. Stargirl was just recently announced to be released! When I play LoL, I really just play Annie. I’m not really drawn to play any other character personally. Which in turn limits my effectiveness, because I can’t play other lanes and roles to the best of my ability. For Infinite Crisis however, I easily have two characters that I want to play for each lane in each mode.
4. It’s Relatively New
Most people don’t get into games because of the community being too advanced. I was once told not to play Super Smash Bros. Melee for that reason. The beta did go on for a long time, I was apart of it from the beginning. However, the current state of the game is very different. I feel like other games have this “set in stone” mentality where you don’t have the freedom to do things. In this game you can play Harley Quinn solo mid and not buy any health items without being flamed for 50 minutes.
3. Game Modes
There’s two modes available right now, and both can be played versus players or bots. Gotham Heights is similar to LoL‘s Dominion. Players fight over 5 points on the map in order to drain the opposing team’s core. The Infinite Crisis version features an extra point mid map that can be a game changer. When it is active, the team that claims it gains the orbital cannon. The cannon summons super minions that will fight for any point that the controlling team doesn’t already possess.
Gotham Divided, is Summoner’s Rift, there’s 3 lanes and the jungle to play. Each team must destroy the other team’s turrets in order to invade their base for a final attack. The Infinite Crisis version changes things up a lot, there’s no buffs in the jungle. They are instead located at the top and bottom lanes, where the opposing team lanes meet. The “Dragon” is between the top and mid lanes, it spawns on a timer. “Baron” is located between the mid and bot lane. It also spawns on a timer, much later in the game.
2. Community
One reason I don’t play LoL and DoTA 2 as much as I’d like to is the communities. It’s hard to have fun or learn when 4 people you don’t know flame you for not performing flawlessly. It was like that in the early stages of the beta, I skipped about 4 months because of it. Now that it’s all died down it’s a lot more fun! I met most of my friend list because we were just talking about comic books for the whole game. A lot of people I meet just give me tips on playing better without even asking.
The argument here is that Infinite Crisis doesn’t have the competitive scene of a League of Legends, or DoTA. That is completely false, there’s plenty of highly skilled, competitive players. I have plenty of them on my friends list that never gave me any problems. In fact, the majority of the players I meet are very known in the community and are great players on top of it.
1. Tutorials
Yes, the number one reason everyone should play Infinite Crisis absolutely has to be the tutorials. No other MOBA actually teaches you how to play them before you play with people. I mean how to play the game the way it’s supposed to be played. They show you what last hitting is and why you need to do it. They explain pushing lanes, what the jungle is for, and they even give you a 1v1 lane to practice against a bot at any time you wish.
Even if you want to play a different game I would advise you at least play through the training missions. It will save you harassment in other communities! Well, a little at least. If you pley through them all and you enjoy the game they give you six free characters! Yes, you get Batman, two of them actually!
I hope you enjoyed the list, I’m gonna go back to enjoying the game! If you’d like to try it you can do so here! It’s free!
