Sony Welcomes You to PlayStation Now Jan. 12

Sony's new online streaming service shows a lot of promise and to make a more personal application about its existence, this could very well revitalize my interest fully in the entire PlayStation portfolio. It's strange that I ended up swapping out my previous console in favor of this new graphically, robust entertainment system – a decision I mildly regret (read: traded it in. . .d'oh!)

PlayStation Now as we initially reported last year will initially grant complete unlimited access to a plethora of PlayStation 3 titles (for the moment the number runs just a bit over 100) from several well-known publishers including Namco Bandai, SEGA, Warner Bros. and more.

Streaming games sounds like an awesome concept, especially for single-player adventures, but I've been curious how the service would fare with multiplayer games (i.e. fighters for instance sound like they would be quite a dismal experience.) PlayStation Now reportedly does not require any special game downloads, installs, or patches.
When the service goes live next week, it will launch with a two-tier pricing model ($19.99 for one month and $44.99 for 3 months).

So what games will I be checking out? Well Uncharted 2 of course. Obviously, there are other appealing selections  that I'll be checking out first by taking advantage of the 7-day trial that will be be offered at launch. Look for a report to follow via PTB TV.

For more details of the service and games included, head over to the official PlayStation blog.
