Setting the record straight. . . 

Vice President of Marketing for Video X Games released a statement for its fanbase to clear up some confusion for its upcoming 2013 event, scheduled to be hosted in the heavenly St. Maarten. Among the details, it was interesting to discover they ran into some potential conflicts with EVO, an event which has been considered an iconic destination where some of the best fighting game competitors have supported for years. It would appear there’s more to the story, based on Rolando’s comment, however those details were not disclosed.

Hello everyone, sorry for the confusion regarding the date. Our date is July 25th to the 28th but somehow we missed changing that info on our .

When we first had finished VxG 2012, we tried contacting Evo to ask them to let us know when their date is so that we could plan our date. Evo responded telling us “we do not reveal our dates to avoid leaks”. We were forced to just choose a date without knowing when Evo was going to be. Then, about 2 months ago, we were told by people close to evo that the date would clash. We were then pretty much forced to change our date to the 25th of July. This could have been avoided if Evo had simply chosen to cooperate with us, but it seems that is not in their nature. There is a lot more to the story, but we will leave it at that.

In any case, we want people to experience our tournament without having to feel like they are choosing. So, thanks to Sonesta hotels we were still able to adjust our date.Hope this clarifies any questions in that regard.
