Winter Brawl VIII Announces Gears of War 3 to Tournament Lineup

Big E Gaming will be mixing up their tournament program and just announced that Winter Brawl 8 will be adding Gears of War, one of Microsoft’s iconic sci-fi shooters to their lineup.

Update: Gears of War 3 will be featured at the event as a 4v4 tournament using Double Elimination Hype 2 Rules.

Previous: The news should definitely create even more hype and excitement to the usual atmosphere that comes with the territory at the Philly-based event, slated to go down February 21 – 23. Of course, veterans can look forward to Capcom’s Big Two (AE 2012 and Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3) as the premier titles, in addition to other popular favorites including the all-new Killer Instinct, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, King of Fighters XIII, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Injustice, and many others.

No word on how the modes (i.e. Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, etc) will be featured in the tournament ladder  for Gears, or more specifically, which versions will be ran. It may be left up to community vote, but additional info will be disclosed very soon.
